Feb. 9th Update: Kolby remains in a coma and he is still at a 6 on the Glascow scale. The medical team is still trying to keep his brain swelling down. That is an issue that may take weeks to resolve. His CT scans haven’t shown any new strokes or any regression in the last couple days so that is a positive. He is still on a ventilator. Progress is slow and the waiting is so very hard. His family is incredibly grateful for the prayers and support. They love hearing the stories from friends, teachers and neighbors who know Kolby personally. Everyone has said similar things. He is a really sweet kid who is hard working, a little shy and absolutely loves running. It’s a comfort to them to know he is so well loved by so many. We will keep everyone updated if there are new developments. Please pray on!
Keep fighting, Kolby!

Feb. 6th Update: Kolby has some swelling in his brain today which is a concern. There hasn’t been many significant changes to report in the last 24 hours. His brain injury appears to be severe and it might take some time for there to be progression or improvements to share. This will be a long road for Kolby and his family. Your prayers and support is keeping a weary, heartbroken family going. Please pray on!
Keep fighting, Kolby!

Feb. 4th Update:I have been in communication with Tansey and Jeff. This what I know so far. Kolby has a severe TBI, collapsed lungs and broken bones. He had surgery last night to relieve pressure and swelling on his brain. They removed part of his skull and put in a drain which is helping to reduce the intracranial pressure. He is still on a vent. He started at a 4 on the Glasgow scale and is up to a 6 so slight improvement. They are trying to wean him from the sedation. They have been trying to get him stable enough today to get the CT scan. He just went down for his CT scan within the last 30 minutes I believe. He is still fighting for his life. Thank you for the prayers.

Feb. 5th Update: Kolby’s parents texted me a specific prayer request. Over the past two days, they have been told many stories from kids at the scene of the accident. This happened at a time many students were outside of the school. Many students witnessed the horrific event up close. I read in a news story that two students chased the suspect’s truck down in their own vehicle to stop him. Some kids tried to help the injured. They watched one of their classmates die at the scene. These kids have had an incredibly traumatic experience that will likely stay with them for a long time to come. They need our prayers for healing as well. Thank you

Feb. 5th Update: There have been no major changes in Kolby’s overall condition during the night but the results of his CT scan from yesterday afternoon showed several strokes so please pray for minimal function loss as a result of the strokes. The doctors are hoping Kolby starts showing signs of being able to attempt to breathe on his own today and another goal for today is improved neuro quality. He is still on a ventilator currently. His Mama is praying that he is able to open his eyes. He begins therapy today. We need a miracle for this young man. Thank you for the continued support and prayers. Keep fighting, Kolby!
